Salty slipped bowls. The first got a heavy dose of salt which has hidden the slip under some lovely orange peel texture. The second a blue and red slip combo which was protected from such heavy salting by the vessels surrounding it.

Salt fired Mugs.

Both mugs were prepared in the exact same way. The two different surface outcomes are due to the placement in the kiln and exposure to salt when fired.

A mixture of salt glazed wares from last weekend. Pleased with the forms but definitely some work to be done.

Next time I will certainly test mixing a darker clay body with the one I’m working with currently. These will be brushed with slips varying thicknesses to give me a better idea on how to alter my process in future firings.
